Sliced fillet of beef with herbs

5 minutes to prepare Serves 4

10 MINUTES

The sliced fillet of beef with herbs is an aromatic and tasty second course dish that is ready in few minutes.

Once braised with melted butter, the beef is topped with herbs and cooked in the oven few minutes more to keep the inner part rosy, tender and succulent.
To get a perfect dish, choose a high-quality cut of beef and accompany it with roasted potatoes...the combination will magnify flavours to the fullest!

Here are ingredients for the 4-serving recipe:

800 g beef sirloin or entrecote cut into 4 steaks
8 sprigs rosemary
8 sprigs thyme
8 sage leaves
50 g butter
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon honey
1 lemon juice
EVO oil
salt and pepper

  1. Take a pan and heat the butter; when it is melted, add the clove of garlic and the beef steaks. Cook the beef 4 minutes each side
  2. Meanwhile, wash and chop herbs
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Set 4 large sheets of aluminium foil on the baking tray
  4. Set 1 steak onto each piece of aluminium. Place some chopped herbs and a pinch of salt on top of each. Crack some black pepper if you like
  5. Close up the aluminium foil to make 4 little packages
  6. Cook in the oven at 200°C for 5 minutes
  7. Meanwhile, pour 2 tablespoons of EVO oil 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and honey in a small bowl. Stir to mix until you obtain an emulsion
  8. Once cooked, unwrap and transfer steaks on a cutting board and cut them into thin slices. Garnish with some honey-flavored sauce and serve immediately!
